Jailed Man Becomes Suspect In Antioch Homicide
MARTINEZ (AP) -- A 22-year-old Contra Costa County man already in jail on suspicion of drug possession and parole violation has been booked in connection with a homicide last month in Antioch.
The Contra Costa Times reports that Alvin Harvey was wanted for violating his parole and was arrested Jan. 12 after police saw him riding in a car with his girlfriend.
Harvey was booked in county jail in Martinez on the parole violation as well as cocaine possession.
Police say they later interviewed him about the Dec. 28 fatal shooting of 28-year-old Jason Reddic. Officers then booked Harvey in connection with that crime.
Police have not said how investigators connected Harvey with Reddic's death, or what the motive might have been.
