Injury Crash Shuts Down Highway 29 In Napa
NAPA (CBS SF) -- Part of state Highway 29 in Napa was reopened Saturday morning after an injury crash blocked both traffic in both directions of the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. on Highway 29 at Whitehall Lane, the CHP was reporting.
A driver in a red jeep struck a tree and reportedly became pinned beneath the car's steering wheel, according to the CHP.
The crash caused the car to catch fire, which a passerby used a fire extinguisher to put out, according to the CHP.
The roadway was closed in both directions as a result of the crash, and reopened around 7:30 a.m.
Emergency responders were called to the scene to transport the driver to a hospital. Information on the extent of the driver's injuries was not immediately available.
