Hunter's Moon Looms Bright In November Sky
SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- The sky in Northern California cleared up just in time for the Hunter's Moon Saturday night.
A Hunter's moon appears especially big and bright because it's so close to the earth -- 226,000 miles away.
It is also referred to as a Blood Moon or a Beaver's Moon.
The luminous moon, according to legend, shined light on prey and signaled that it was time to hunt.
