Hostage Situation Peacefully Resolved At San Rafael Hotel
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— A tense hostage situation involving a boyfriend who allegedly held his girlfriend against her will ended peacefully in San Rafael Saturday afternoon.
Police from several law enforcement agencies responded to a morning call to assist in the incident at the Villa Inn alongside highway 101 at 1600 Lincoln Avenue south of the Marin County Civic Center.
Margeaux Rohrbacher, a spokeswoman for the San Rafael Police Department said a 23-year-old man held his 21-year-old girlfriend at gunpoint. It isn't clear what lead up to the standoff.
Crime-scene tape blocked the driveway to the inn and surrounded a room on the second floor of the two-story building as an active investigation continues.
