2 Warriors Fans Killed In Shootout On I-880 Following Playoff Game At Oracle Arena
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Two Golden State Warriors fans who were apparently in attendance at the playoff game at Oracle Arena Thursday night were killed in a rolling gun battle on northbound Interstate 880 in Oakland following the game.
The shooting on northbound Interstate Highway 880 at Jackson Street was first reported at 10:36 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators were considering the possibility that Thursday night's double fatal shooting may be linked to the Warriors playoff elimination loss in the Western Conference semifinals to the San Antonio Spurs.
Game tickets were found at the scene of the shooting and CHP spokesman Sam Morgan told KCBS that at least one of the victims was wearing the type of gold Warriors t-shirt that was given out at the playoff games. A published report indicated both victims had tickets to Thursday night's playoff game.
"We don't know if they were attending the game at the Oracle Arena or if perhaps they were watching the game at a different location and just traveling from point A to point B, we're still trying to sort that out," Morgan told KCBS.

"We have a suspect vehicle that has been preliminarily identified as a dark colored sport utility-style vehicle. We still have several witnesses left to contact about that," he added.
The incident shut down all lanes of northbound 880 and the Jackson Street onramp, according to the CHP, just as hordes of fans were leaving Oracle Arena.
Initial reports suggested one of the victims may have been shot in the head.
Reports to CHP also indicated one of the victims have been hit by a van or a box truck after exiting a vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle did not stop.
Oakland Police and the California Highway Patrol were seeking witnesses to the shooting.
Occupants in two cars were reported to have been shooting at each other, leaving a Porsche at the scene riddled with bullets.
The roadway reopened to traffic at 2:34 a.m., according to the CHP.
Oakland police said no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting and no suspects had been identified.
