Highway 4 Reopened After Tanker Truck Wreck
HERCULES (CBS SF) - A tanker truck overturned in unincorporated Contra Costa County near Hercules Monday morning, prompting the closure of all westbound lanes of state Highway 4 in the area, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash was reported at 10:25 a.m. on Cummings Skyway near Highway 4 and involved a tanker carrying cetane, a type of fuel, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
As a precaution, authorities shut down all lanes of westbound Highway 4 until the tanker could be uprighted and removed, Bartlett said. The lanes were cleared around 11:30 a.m.
