Highway 4 In Brentwood Reopens After Fatal Crash
BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- The state Highway 4 Bypass in Brentwood reopened Sunday afternoon more than seven hours after being shut down due to a fatal crash, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash was reported on the Highway 4 Bypass just east of Lone Tree Way about 5 a.m., CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

A pedestrian was apparently struck on the roadway and killed, Anderson said.
The Bypass was shut down in north- and southbound directions until 12:14 p.m. while Brentwood police conducted an investigation.
The victim's name was not being released pending notification of next of kin.
