Highway 1 Near Half Moon Bay Reopened After Fatal Crash
HALF MOON BAY (CBS SF) -- Both directions of state Highway 1 south of Half Moon Bay have reopened following a crash Saturday morning that killed one person and left two others critically injured when a car went off the road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash near Pescadero Creek Road was reported at 8:28 a.m. A Sig-alert was issued at 9:03 a.m. when both directions of the highway were shut down between Pescadero Creek Road and state Highway 84 near San Gregorio, according to emergency officials.
The alert was canceled at 11:33 a.m. when the road opened.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others in the car suffered serious life-threatening injuries, according to the CHP.
