Hells Angels Murder Suspect Spotted In South Bay
SAN JOSE (KCBS) – San Jose police said a Hells Angel member, who is wanted for murder, has been seen in the South Bay in the past week.
38-year-old Steve Ruiz has been on the run since a fatal shooting at a biker funeral in October. Investigators said they believe he is responsible for the death of Steve Tausan, who was shot and killed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
KCBS' Chris Filippi Reports:
San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia said Ruiz was spotted in San Jose in just the last few days, but wouldn't go into the specifics of where he was seen.
"We wanted to not only remind our officers, but also wanted to reach out to the community and see if anyone has information or sees Mr. Ruiz to contact the police right away," said Garcia. "He is considered armed and dangerous."
Garcia said that Ruiz might be driving a pewter-colored 1995 or 1996 GMC Yukon or an older gray Toyota 4-Runner.
"We don't know whether he's still in those vehicles. We don't have information on the license plate of either of those vehicles," said Garcia. "We know that he has ties to the cities of Gilroy, Campbell and Fremont."
Garcia said that anyone who helps Ruiz evade capture will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
