Heavy Fog Greets Bay Area Commuters, Air Travelers
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Fog was the word of the day as Bay Area commuters returned to work Monday after the holiday weekend.
The fog made its way to the Bay Area by way of the Central Valley, forcing drivers to slow and use extra caution, especially on all major Bay Area bridges. A Dense Fog Advisory was in effect until 9 a.m. Monday.

The fog not only slowed drivers on the roads, but impacted flights in and out of San Francisco International Airport. An airport spokesman said the fog was serious enough to institute a slowdown, primarily of arriving flights.

The flight delays were expected to last at SFO until early afternoon. There were no reports of flight delays at Oakland International Airport or Mineta San Jose International Airport.
