Heavy Fog Blankets Bay Area, Delays Traffic, Airport Travel
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Bay Area woke up to a blanket of heavy fog Monday causing delays during the morning commute and travelers at San Francisco International.
The CHP issued fog advisories for Bay Area bridges and highways. Bridge traffic was slow and commuters were advised to expect delays. The metering lights on the Bay Bridge were on especially early.
The Federal Aviation Administration put San Francisco International on ground delay due to fog. All flights arriving from points farther than 1,625 miles were delayed, according to airport officials.
The fog is expected to lift later Monday morning.
