Heat Warnings Extend Into Tuesday For Bay Area, Much Of California
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- There's no relief in sight for Californians as forecasters warned the state's heat wave would extend into Tuesday.

A special statement from the National Weather Service indicated the Bay Area will experience hot temperatures until at least 7 p.m. Tuesday, and maybe longer.
To make matters worse, the NWS said cooling ocean breezes haven't been traveling far enough inland overnight to fan the overheated valleys throughout much of the state.
Downtown Oakland set a record high of 85 on Saturday - four degrees higher that the previous record for the date set in 1991, and Mountain View at 92 broke a high temperature record set in 1950 by a single degree.
In the Bay Area, temperatures Sunday were again expected to reach the 80s in San Francisco, upper 90s in San Jose and into the triple digits inland, about 20 degrees above typical highs for Northern California.
