Hayward Woman Shot In Head While Sleeping At Home
HAYWARD (CBS SF) - A woman was shot in the head and neck while she slept at her Hayward home, but is expected to survive, according to police.
The shooting happened at a home on the 500 block of Smalley Avenue, Sgt. Eric Krimm said. Several bullets were fired at the home shortly after midnight Wednesday.
Sgt. Krimm said the 24-year-old woman was conscious and communicating with others before she was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery for her wounds. She is expected to survive.
The woman's boyfriend, who was also in the home at the time, was unhurt.
Krimm said the shooting does not appear to have been a random act, but there are no clues to indicate a motive or a suspect.
