Hail, Thunderstorms Move Through Solano County
FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- The National Weather Service's prediction of isolated thunderstorms in North Bay valleys came true in Fairfield Thursday afternoon.
A Fairfield police dispatcher reported thunderstorms with "big chunks of hail" moved through the city around 3:40 p.m.
"It went right over City Hall. It looks like it's snowing," the dispatcher said.
KCBS' Chris Filippi Reports:
The storms seemed to move in from Vacaville, which is north of Fairfield, the dispatcher said.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Thursday for North Bay valleys in the Bay Area, southern Salinas Valley and the Monterey Bay area.
Rain, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms with small hail and cooler temperatures were expected Thursday, and temperatures will be in the 30s Thursday night, the National Weather Service said.
