Ground Broken On eBART Extension To Antioch
PITTSBURG (AP) -- Ground has been broken on a project that will expand Bay Area Rapid Transit District train service another 10 miles into eastern Contra Costa County.
Local leaders and BART officials were on hand Friday for the groundbreaking of what will be called eBART.
The Contra Costa Times reports that the when the $462 million extension is finished it will provide service to Antioch.
The project is expected to be completed by 2015, but the completion date hinges on when a widening project on Highway 4 is finished.
