Grateful Dead Rocker Bob Weir Storms Off Mill Valley Stage Over Noisy Crowd
MILL VALLEY (CBS SF) -- Grateful Dead rocker Bob Weir stormed off the stage Monday night in an angry fit when loud audience members refused to quiet down during a performance at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley.
Weir was performing a quiet opening set before a show by the new Ratdog Quartet, and was angered by the chatter coming from the back bar, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
Weir got so upset by the noise that he stormed off the stage in the middle of a rendition of Bob Dylan's 'A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall," declaring "That's it, I give up."
Weir returned briefly to tell the audience he would return for the Ratdog Quartet's set, saying they would be louder, so the audience noise wouldn't matter.
But, during a quiet song in the Ratdog Quartet set, Weir again barked at the audience.
"Shut the (expletive deleted) up," Weir yelled at the audience.
