Grandmother Driving For Uber Says She Was Attacked By Door-Slamming Passengers
LOS ANGELES (CBS SF) -- A Los Angeles grandmother who drives for Uber says her passengers attacked her Friday evening.
The 51-year-old woman trying to earn extra money said she asked the two men she had just picked up to not slam her car door. That's when one of them grabbed a thorny rose from a nearby bush and hit her in the face with it.
"My children flashed before me, that's how scary it was for me," the driver, who wishes to stay anonymous for safety reasons, told CBS LA.
The men eventually took off and jumped into another Uber.
The driver says she wanted to warn the other driver, but Uber doesn't have a phone number for its drivers to contact the company.
Now she wants an emergency line for drivers.
Uber says it's looking into the situation and has suspended the passengers' access.
