Governor Schwarzenegger Reflects On Seven Years In Office
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- With his term coming to an end, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger reflected on his time in office in San Francisco on Tuesday.
Looking back over his seven years in office, Schwarzenegger pointed to workers compensation reform, his infrastructure boost and California's historic green legislation as his proudest accomplishments. But he said he still could have done more, namely regarding tax reform.
"I hope the next administration is going to look at that again because our tax system is outdated," Schwarzenegger said. "It doesn't work."
Former Senate Republican Leader Jim Brulte spent 14 years in the Legislature. He said it's key to remind voters of what you've left behind.
"As a political reformer, Prop 14, the open primary," he said. "His pension reforms are truly historic. So I think he has a very good legacy."
And while the Governor didn't give any hints about what's next on his agenda, many have said his recent trips to Moscow and London point to capitalizing on his international celebrity.
