Google Reportedly Partnering With Ford On Self-Driving Cars
MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) – Google is reportedly partnering with the Ford Motor Company on self-driving cars using Google's technology.
Sources told Yahoo Autos that the partnership would be announced next month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Mountain View-based internet giant has reportedly been looking for manufacturing partners for the autonomous vehicles.
Exact details of the partnership are not clear, but Yahoo reported that the deal is non-exclusive and that Google has talked to other automakers. Due to liability issues, the partnership would reportedly be legally separate from Ford.
Last week, Ford announced it would test self-driving vehicles near its new research center in Palo Alto.
