Google Co-Founder Takes Over As Company CEO
MOUNTAIN VIEW (KCBS) -- Google co-founder Larry Page will take over as the company's CEO Monday.
For the past decade, the Mountain View based company has been lead by Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt. Page was the CEO from the company's incorporation in 1998 until Schmidt's arrival in 2001.

The search engine leads in the U.S. and is even more dominant in Europe. San Jose Mercury news tech reporter Mike Swift said Google is growing rapidly in the mobile space area as well as in video, with YouTube.
In addition, Page was behind Google's rejected effort to create a vast digital library by scanning millions of books without copyright permission.
"Google is facing increasing competition from Facebook which is very quickly innovating and very successful at rolling out new products," said Swift who added, "Larry thinks big."
Swift said bringing in Page will hopefully spark a startup mentality and the drive to invent. However, one of the storm clouds on the horizon for Google is regulators in Washington, particularly with anti-trust.
It remains to be seen how Page will deal with lawmakers and regulators during his second run.
