Good Question: Do Flowers From Florists Last Longer?
(CBS 5) – They are as much of a part of Valentine's Day as heart shaped boxes of candy, but they never seem to last. In this Good Question: Do flowers from the florist last longer, or the flowers at the supermarket?
ANSWER: According to Bob Otsuka of the San Francisco Flower Mart, Flowers purchased in supermarkets are fine. But they may not always be the best quality due to the amount of time it takes to distribute them. They are also typically grown to produce less stems and blooms than more expensive flowers at a professional florist shop. Florist flowers are on average going to last longer, but they are also typically more expensive.
