Gilroy Police Arrest 6 Women On Suspicion Of Prostitution
GILROY (CBS SF) -- Six women were arrested in Gilroy Saturday on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution, police said.
All six women - Mallory Osta, 21, Lisa Hart, 23, Sydney Rodgers, 46, Chunmel Zhang, 38, Quanisha Thomas, 18, and Aaliyah Islam, 24 - had advertised their services specifically for clients in Gilroy, police said. The women, however, all provided addresses throughout the state.
When the six agreed to partake in various intimate acts, they were arrested, according to police.
Some of the women had large sums of cash with them, had intravenous drug habits and other public safety concerns, according to police.
They are susceptible to being victims of robbery, rape and assault, according to police.
Police are working on minimizing the risk of potential clients.
More than one of the suspects were charged for similar acts in Santa Clara County, police said. All were processed at the Gilroy Police Department and released with a citation.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call (408) 846-0350.
