Giants Fans Search For World Championship Gear
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Hundreds of people packed the Dugout Store at AT&T Park on Tuesday, waiting in line to buy their official San Francisco Giants World Series memorabilia.
Many were on hand for Monday night's celebration and just wanted their own part of history.
"We were out here last night when it was craziness," said a fan from Daly City. "We said we want to come here in the morning to get some shirts because they're going to get sold out. It's crazy, there are so many people here."
KCBS' Anna Duckworth Reports:
Many of those who lined up bought bags and bags of merchandise, including Richard from South San Francisco, who spent over $300.
"I got a bunch of t-shirts for myself and my friends," he said. "I bought hats and everything else."
The team also parked a couple of merchandise trucks outside of the ballpark.
Many fans said they were getting their gear on Tuesday so that they can wear it to Wednesday's celebration parade.
"After so many years of waiting, it is definitely worth it," said one fan. "It's just amazing. It really is. The whole city is on a high."
Store workers and security kept the crowds orderly, allowing fans to come inside as others walked out.
