Giants Becoming Regulars At White House With Third Visit In 5 Years
WASHINGTON (CBS) - It seems like the Giants have been getting more White House invitations than most congressional Republicans during the last few years of the Obama Administration.
The Reigning World Series champion San Francisco will visit the White House for the third time in five years Thursday, then travel by train to Philadelphia.
"It's a fun time for all of us, a special time. You're getting honored," Bochy said. "The ring ceremony, the parade, this is the last part of the success you had the previous season."
Former player Michael Morse will join the Giants in Washington. He is on the DL with the Marlins.
President Obama welcomed the 2012 World Series champions at a South Lawn ceremony honoring their victory and their community service work in 2013. The Giants swept the World Series in October of 2012.
"They're making this a habit," Obama said at the time.
