Gas Leak Prompts Evacuation Of Brentwood Apartment Building
BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- A gas leak in Brentwood evacuated a nearby apartment building Tuesday, a PG&E spokesman said.
The leak was reported at 12:20 p.m. in the 1200 block of Central Avenue. It was finally stopped at about 5 p.m., PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
The pipe was fully repaired shortly after that.
Fourteen residents of a nearby apartment building were evacuated during the leak, and their gas service was interrupted as well.
By about 7 p.m. all residents had been allowed to return home and PG&E was in the process of restoring their gas service, Guidi said.
Guidi said the cause of the leak had not yet been determined.
