Gas Leak Capped Near San Francisco General Hospital
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A gas leak near San Francisco General Hospital Wednesday morning prompted brief evacuations.
PG&E received a call about a leak at 22nd and Vermont Streets around 10:15 a.m. Officials said a third party construction crew hit a 2 inch plastic gas line.
John Baxter of the San Francisco Fire Department said building 100 of San Francisco General Hospital was briefly evacuated, but evacuees have since been allowed to return. According to Joe Molica of PG&E, 3 to 4 homes in the area were also evacuated near 23rd and San Bruno Avenue.
Molica said the flow of gas was stopped around 10:30 a.m.
