'Game of Thrones' Premiere Brings Down HBO GO App
(CBS SF) – Turns out HBO's GO app became a victim to a rampage of "Game of Thrones" fans trying to view the 4th Season premiere. Just before the premiere aired, thousands of users attempted to tune-in through the app, crashing the stream service.
Some users experienced excessively long wait times to load, and finally receiving the tragic blow of "Fatal error - Failed to load the service error definitions."
HBO Go took to Twitter with a response:

This is not the first time HBO GO experienced a flood of popularity. In March, the HBO series starring Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey "True Detective" experienced and overpowering strain to their system by the amount of users viewing the season finale. When complaints began pouring in, HBO GO addressed the issue via Twitter as well.
According to Variety.com, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes pledged to "invest more into HBO Go in order to keep these kind of malfunctions from happening again."
