Concord Homeowner Declines Renting Home To Convicted Sexual Predator
CONCORD (CBS SF) – A violent sexual predator trying to rent a home in Concord will have to find a different place to live, according to the Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney's Office.
Deputy District Attorney Andrea Tavenier said Thursday the homeowner and officials with a property management company notified her of their decision not to rent to Fraisure Smith Thursday morning.
Smith, 51, was trying to rent a single-family home in 1500 block of Amhurst Way after being released from Coalinga State Hospital, according to Concord police.
Smith went to prison in 2006 after pleading no contest to assault with the intent to commit rape.
A jury found that Smith was a sexually violent predator in a 2010 trial and he was placed in the Coalinga State Hospital in July of that year.
