Former Walnut Creek Officer Pleads Not Guilty To Sex With Minor
WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) - A former Walnut Creek police detective pleaded not guilty earlier this week to felony statutory rape charges, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
Shawn Wallace, a 45-year-old Walnut Creek resident, pleaded not guilty Monday to one felony count alleging that he had sex with a 17-year-old girl in 2010.
If he is convicted of the charges, Wallace could face up to three years in prison.
He is scheduled to return to court June 23 to set a date for a preliminary hearing.
Wallace's attorney was not immediately available for comment.
