Former President George W. Bush Visits Facebook HQ
PALO ALTO, (KCBS) --- Former President George W. Bush brought his national book tour to the Bay Area Monday afternoon when he visited Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto to talk about his memoir.
Mr. Bush spent about an hour doing a Facebook Live event that was broadcast on the social networking website.
KCBS' Chris Filippi Reports:
The nation's 43rd president joked about his new book "Decision Points" with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
"People didn't think I could read, much less write," he said.
Mr. Bush said "Decision Points" does not deal with his life story but instead focuses on key moments of his presidency.
"I've written this book because I've realized there's no such thing as accurate short-term history," he said.
The former president has been quiet when it comes to politics since he left office, and he said he didn't like it when former presidents criticized him while he was in office.
Mr. Bush has been active on Facebook since June, and more than 600,000 fans have signed up on his page.
