Former KPIX-TV Reporter Rollin Post Dies At 81
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS / AP) -- Rollin Post, a longtime San Francisco Bay area reporter and television commentator, has died.
His daughter, Lauren Post, says he died at home on October 3 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was 81.
Post began a career in broadcasting that would span more than four decades as a copy boy with CBS Radio in Los Angeles in 1954.
In 1961 he joined KPIX-TV Channel 5 in San Francisco first as an assignment editor, then became a reporter.
During his career, his family says Post attended 18 national conventions, while covering nine presidential cycles.
Post also worked for KQED-TV, then later for KRON-TV, where he remained as political editor until his retirement in 1997.
No services are pending, but his family says a memorial event will be held sometime this fall.
