Former Easy Bay Teacher Faces New Lawsuits In Child Molestation Case
CONCORD (KCBS) – A former Concord elementary school teacher is facing more legal trouble, on accusations of child molestation.
The trial for Joseph Martin, a former teacher at Woodside Elementary, is expected to begin in March. He's facing 125 felony molestation charges, involving more than a dozen former students at the Concord school.

Two civil lawsuits have also been filed against Martin, one by attorney Stan Casper, who is representing seven of nine alleged victims.
"All of the children have suffered immeasurable damages when it comes to being the victims of child sexual abuse," he said.
Casper said the Mt. Diablo Unified School District has also been named in the latest legal action.
"This school district and its administrators had ample opportunities to stop Joseph Martin before he victimized others," Casper said.
According to a 2006 Concord police report, some teachers at the school had complained about suspicious behavior by their colleague.
Martin began working in the district in 1991. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The law firm representing the school district did not return calls requesting comment on the case.
