Former Cal Football Star, Oakland School Kids Team Up To Fight Truancy
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Oakland Unified School District has a creative new campaign aimed at getting kids to stay in class, and they are getting a little help from a famous alum to help carry them over the goal line.
A just-released video called "I'm an Oakland School Kid" is a remix of the hit song "Don't Stop The Music," and features kids singing about their goals and the role attendance plays in their success.
Making a special Cameo is Oakland Tech and UC Berkeley alum Marshawn Lynch, who is coming of his best year in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks.
