Following @DanicaPatrick's Weekend Off
While the NASCAR Camping World Truck and Sprint Cup Series took to the Martinsville "paperclip," the NASCAR Nationwide Series had a rare weekend off, the first of two in a row.
Since there was no racing for the Nationwide drivers, we decided to take this time off to learn a bit more about the driver of the No. 7 JR Motorsports GoDaddy Chevrolet using her own words – via her Twitter feed.
Danica Patrick is not known to be a frequent Tweeter, but when she does Tweet, it gives some insight into her personal life and what she does on her down time.
Last week, Patrick turned 30 years old and had a celebration that lasted a few days. She used Twitter to thank her fans for the birthday wishes as well as a special birthday DVD they made for her. The male fans most likely enjoyed a Tweet which mentioned her sunburn after her pool party and the "placement of (her) bikini strings." Although she didn't post a picture of her sunburn, she did post a picture of herself at the celebration, which included a special birthday wine glass.
We also learned that Danica Patrick is just like us... when she tweeted her excitement over the Anchorman 2 announcement. Sure, some fans corrected her for quoting the movie incorrectly, but it was nice to see her have a sense of humor and know that she, like many of us, enjoys Ron Burgundy and his many leather-bound books.
Most known for either being in her GoDaddy firesuit or in a sexy outfit for the company's commercials, Patrick recently went on a William Rast shopping spree. After Tweeting she went to the store, she received a response from actor/musician Justin Timberlake who runs the brand. Maybe Patrick will be the next person to be called "Epic Swag" around the track?
So far, we've learned Patrick enjoys Anchorman, has famous friends and good style. What else did we learn from her Twitter feed? She has The Hunger Games fever just like most of the world.
In NASCAR news, Patrick roots for her boss, who has been dominating during the first part of the season. Maybe he can teach her some tricks to improve after she comes back from the break.
There are just nine races before Patrick gets behind the wheel of the No. 10 Cup car she shares with David Reuitmann again. After the Cup race at Martinsville this weekend, the car has fallen outside of the top 35. It currently sits in 36th place, one point behind Landon Cassill and his No. 83 BK Racing machine.
Reutimann will have his chance to put it back into the top 35 under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway next weekend while Patrick has another weekend off.
