Flash Flood Watch Issued For North Bay As Drenching Storm Continues Sunday
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the North Bay until 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon as another storm system drenches the region.
A flood watch is a notice to be on the lookout for floods, but differs from Saturday's flood warming where flash floods were observed or imminent.
Areas advised to be on flood watch include Point Reyes National Seashore, interior mountains and valleys in the North Bay.
Water in small streams and creeks was approaching the top of the banks by Sunday morning, even though rain had lessened overnight. Up to 2 inches of rain is still forecast for Sunday.
Urban flooding including street ponding is likely in many areas, and small landslides or debris flows can be expected around steep hills.
