Flash Flood Warning Issued For Alameda, Sonoma, Napa, Santa Cruz Counties
ALAMEDA COUNTY (CBS SF) -- The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Alameda, Sonoma, Napa, Santa Cruz and other counties in Northern California.
The warning for Alameda County was in effect until 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Flooding was imminent along the upper San Lorenzo river near Felton. The Castro Valley Creek in Hayward has reached flood stage and is expected to continue to rise.
The warning for Napa County was in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday. Residents in Yountville and Napa were warned that flooding is expected along Redwood Creek.
In Sonoma County, Willow Brook at Penngrove Park in Petaluma had exceeded flood stage. The warning was in effect until 2:45 a.m.
Residents in affected areas were warned to seek higher ground. The NWS warns never to cross a flooded roadway in an automobile.
