Five Arrested In Oakland Road Rage Shooting
OAKLAND (CBS-SF) -- Five people have been arrested after a road rage incident erupted into gunfire that left two people injured in the shooting and three pedestrians hurt in an ensuing traffic collision, authorities said.
According to Oakland police, officers responded to a report of shooting in the 7700 block of Bancroft Avenue at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday.
Upon arrival, officers located a car that was struck by gunfire. Inside, they found a male driver suffering from a gunshot wound and a female passenger who was injured by debris.
Officers determined that suspects traveling in another vehicle had shot the two victims following a road rage incident in the area of 90th and Bancroft avenues.
The two victims were taken to a hospital, where they are listed in stable condition Thursday morning.
After an investigation, officers located the shooting suspects in the 7300 block of Bancroft Avenue, where the suspects' vehicle had collided with another vehicle.
Additionally, three pedestrians were also struck by one of the vehicles during the collision, although police have not yet determined which vehicle struck the pedestrians.
Officers arrested five suspects inside the suspect vehicle, four men and one woman. Officers also found a firearm inside the suspect vehicle.
All five suspects were taken to a hospital, where they are listed in stable condition as of Thursday morning. Their names have not yet been released.
The driver of the vehicle struck by the suspect's vehicle, the three pedestrians who were struck, one woman and two male juveniles, were all in stable condition at a local hospital.
