Firefighters Find Burned Body On Highway 85 Onramp In San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Firefighters discovered a body in a fire on a San Jose freeway onramp Tuesday night, fire officials said.
Brush and trees were reported to be on fire on the Cottle Road onramp to northbound State Route 85 at 9:16 p.m., according to the fire department.
As firefighters were putting out the fire, they discovered there was a body in the flames.
The fire was knocked down successfully, according to Capt. Reggie Williams of the San Jose Fire Department. Williams said the victim likely lived in the area, and that mattresses and tents were found nearby.
Details about the body have not yet been determined.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
