Fire Crews Respond To 1-Alarm Fire In Hayward

HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- Firefighters responded to an early morning 1-alarm fire at a home in Hayward.

When crews arrived at the house located at 54 Revere Avenue, they found heavy smoke inside.

Fire officials say the blaze started in the garage and spread to the attic. There was a working smoke detector in the house that alerted one of the four people inside the residence. All four managed to get out of the burning structure.

The family dog was missing, but the animal has been found.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
