Fire Burns San Jose Medical Marijuana Club
SAN JOSE (KCBS/BCN)- Arson investigators in San Jose are trying to determine the cause of an early morning fire that drew at least 40 firefighters to a medical marijuana dispensary.
KCBS' Mike Colgan Reports:
The two-alarm fire broke out early Wednesday morning at 3:04 a.m. at a club called Herb Appeal. It's a two-story Victorian at 450 Drake St.
A second alarm was added at 3:23 a.m., and the dispatcher said the fire was brought under control at 5:04 a.m. No injuries were reported.
Investigators say it's still too early to know if the fire was related to the business, but if it was, Fire Chief Debbie Ward said it wouldn't be the first time.
"They usually have a high degree of PG&E use, so it's very possible," said Ward. "And they did have wires that fell down here, so that caused an extra hazard."
