Fire Burns Condo In San Jose, Displacing 2 Residents
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A fire Sunday evening displaced two people when it burned a condominium in East San Jose, a fire captain said.
Firefighters received the first call of the fire at 7:20 p.m. on Kimpton Court at Easton Drive, Capt. Mike Van Elgort said.
The fire started in the kitchen and extended into the attic and burned through the roof. No one was injured.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down at 7:59 p.m., Van Elgort said.
It appears the fire started when the residents left something on the stove, he said.
Fire officials suggest checking the stove twice before leaving to go out.
