Fire Burn 2 Homes In Santa Rosa Neighborhood Near Coffey Park
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Two homes burned in Santa Rosa Tuesday morning near an area devastated by the 2017 Tubbs Fire, according to fire officials.
The fire on San Miguel Place began at around 3:47 a.m. between two houses and climbed up the sides of each and into their attics, Santa Rosa Fire Battalion Chief Jason Jenkins said.
Multiple engines were assigned to the fire, which began in one home and then spread to the neighboring house. The fire was burning less than a mile from the Coffey Park neighborhood, which was virtually destroyed during the 2017 Tubbs Fire.
Both houses suffered significant smoke damage as well as fire damage. No damage estimate was immediately available.
As firefighters were responding, they received reports of shots fired in the vicinity of the fire and had to stage a block away while police
cleared the area, Jenkins said, which delayed the response by about a minute.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire, Jenkins said. No one was hurt but two families were displaced.
