Fiorina's Plan for Economic Rebound
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KCBS)- Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina says she will cut taxes and create jobs if she wins her fight against incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer in November.
The former HP CEO visited KCBS and CBS 5 Monday in the first of four in depth interviews with the California senate and gubernatorial candidates. Questioning Fiorina were KCBS reporter Doug Sovern and CBS 5 reporter Simon Perez.
Fiorina blasted Barbara Boxer, labeling the economic stimulus plan a complete failure, and added she has a better idea for creating jobs for all those unemployed Californians.
"Let's give every small business owner a two-year paid tax holiday for every unemployed worker they hire. It would have an immediate effect. Let's tell every new business that if you put your factory and workers here instead of another country, we'll give you a five-year tax holiday. Jobs are leaving California because there are friendlier places to put jobs," said Fiorina.

But the candidate was unable to say how much that would cost or how she would pay for it.
"You don't need to pay for tax cuts. They pay for themselves if they are targeted because they create jobs and when jobs are created, consumption increases," added Fiorina.
Fiorina said the answer is to cut federal spending while passing these targeted tax cuts she believes there is at least half a trillion dollars of waste to slash from the federal budget.
