Final Frames Rolled At Daly City's Serra Bowl
DALY CITY (CBS SF) - It's the end of an era for many Bay Area bowlers. Sunday, the 50-year-old Serra Bowl in Daly City closed its doors for the last time.
"I'm devastated," summed up Serra Bowl Day Manager Sara Wadel-Lewinstein, who was particularly proud of the facility's charitable endeavors, including support for police officers and children. "Everyone's devastated. It's like closing Golden Gate Park."
KCBS' Chris Filippi Reports:
The closure comes because the landlord apparently declined to renew the bowling alley's lease - for reasons that Serra Bowl staffers said remains a mystery.
