Feds Allege Violations At Hayward Flight School
HAYWARD (BCN) - A Hayward flight school faces a possible fine after federal regulators alleged the company's instructors didn't complete required training.
The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday that it is proposing to assess a nearly $222,000 civil penalty against Flying Vikings Inc.
Agency officials allege that during a nine-month period in 2008 the school's instructors had not completed required training or refresher courses within the previous year.
Flying Vikings provided training to 20 students and graduated 10 of them during that period.
The agency also alleges the school failed to maintain training records.
Co-owner Celine Correa says the school plans to appeal the proposed penalty, calling the allegations unwarranted and unfair.
