Father Of Suspect In Sierra LaMar Case Faces Sexual Assault Charges
GILROY (KCBS) -- The father of the man charged in the disappearance of Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar has been ordered to stand trial on multiple sexual assault charges.
An investigator with the Santa Clara County Sexual Crimes Unit told KCBS that a judge ordered 51-year-old Genaro Garcia Fernandez to stand trial on charges he molested his daughter over a nine-year period.
Garcia Fernandez was taken into custody last July after his daughter came forward and said she was molested numerous times, starting in 1990 when she was five-years-old.
She said the molestations continued until she was 14-years old.
The young woman is the sister of Antolin Garcia-Torres, who was arrested earlier this year and charged with LaMar's kidnapping and murder.
LaMar, 15, was last seen on the morning of March 16th leaving her Morgan Hill home for class at Ann Sobrato High school. Despite multiple searches, her body has not been found.
