All Lanes Reopened On I-580 After Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Pleasanton
PLEASANTON (CBS SF) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton Friday afternoon, causing the closure of multiple lanes of the highway for more than two hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 12:54 p.m. near the Hacienda Drive on-ramp to eastbound Highway 580, CHP Officer James Evans said.
The motorcyclist apparently became trapped under a truck following the collision, Evans said.
The Alameda County coroner was called to the scene of the crash shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
The collision prompted the closure of the three left eastbound lanes of the highway. All lanes reopened at about 3 p.m., according to the CHP.
