Man Struck And Killed On Hwy 101 In San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian late Thursday night on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 10:55 p.m., officers received multiple reports of a male victim down in the roadway near Brokaw Road.
Officers located the male pedestrian, believed to be in his 20s, down in the roadway.
Emergency crews provided medical assistance to the pedestrian, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision, according to the CHP.
The driver of the vehicle was a 51-year-old Gilroy resident in a 2007 Hyundai. He was not arrested, according to the CHP.
The Old Bayshore Highway on-ramp to southbound U.S. Highway 101 and the two right lanes of U.S. Highway 101 were closed until 12:50 a.m.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
