Fatal Crash Blocks Highway 101 On-Ramp In San Mateo
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) - A man was killed Wednesday morning in a crash that shut down a U.S. Highway 101 on-ramp in San Mateo for more than two hours, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had gone off the roadway and crashed at the eastbound East Hillsdale Boulevard on-ramp to southbound Highway 101 at about 5:30 a.m., CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles appear to have been involved in the crash, Bartlett said.
The on-ramp was blocked by emergency crews until 7:35 a.m.
The crash remained under investigation.
