Lanes Reopen After Fatal Accident On I-880 In Oakland
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- All lanes have reopened after a fatal traffic accident closed lanes throughout the early-morning hours Saturday on southbound Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was initially reported at 3:18 a.m. near the Hegenberger Road off-ramp. The driver of the wrecked vehicle was found not breathing at 3:20 p.m., according to the CHP.
The closure was reduced to three lanes at 3:38 a.m. when a Sig-alert was issued. The Sig-alert was cancelled and all lanes were reopened at 5:09 a.m., the CHP said.
